This is true. There are four Olympic figure skating events: men's singles, women's singles, pairs, and ice dancing. As for "less technical" – that's completely subjective, and given the number of difficult rules in ice dancing (the skaters can never be more than 2 arm's lengths apart, they can only skate to the beat and not the melody, screwing up synchronization is more heavily penalized, etc.), fairly unsupportable.
