describing the Ardennes as a forest region between Germany and France is a bit misleading. The Ardennes is a region mainly in Belgium (and to a lesser extent in France and Luxemburg). Particularly annoying if the Alsace actually is really between Germany and France.

Also thought it was an odd description.

What about "Region where the Battle of the Bulge was fought"? Ties it more readily with WWII too.

Alsace fits the description better than Ardennes. It's known for its forests especially the Vosges and Hagenau, and is the archetypal Germanic/French territory.

Yep I also put in variations on Alsace before coming up with Ardennes.

Yeah, another who struggled with that clue before finally getting it. Alsace definitely suits the clue better than the answer.

How do you do that in making the quiz, have the first letters light up both when their dorresponding answwer is typed in and when the final sentence is typed in? I could use a system like that in one or more of my own quizzes.

I haven't done it myself, but I imagine it'd be done by accepting both the quote and the answer for that line (e.g. Gestapo) as acceptable type-ins for the letter box ("G").

But even that wouldn't work cause they're hidden answer components!

There is a special code that I use that won't work for user quizzes. Sorry.

Not surprised you missed Tito (Yugoslav) - he wasn't on there! Assume you meant Tojo!! P.S. me too - I knew it was To_o, but never tried j.

Typed every variation of Schutzstaffel I could think of for gestapo. Mistaken!

That would give a slightly different edge to the final quote.

I didn't do as well on everything else, but I found it funny that I guessed the final quote just after answering the first question.

How in the hell is it possible that the holocaust is the least known answer? That's downright disturbing.

I'm guessing most people are like me, - of course we know about the holocaust, we've just never heard it called "The Shoah".

I like the fact that you have to figure out a quote using the first letter of the answer. even though it was pretty easy, I still had fun!
