Joe Biden does have a pretty good chance of winning. He has Wisconsin and Nevada, and he needs 16 more votes after winning those states. The absentee ballots in Michigan will probably be enough for him to win the state, and therefore, the election!

If the popular vote mattered, then candidates would campaign that way. Democrats seem to pour their efforts into increasing turnout in states they would win anyway (CA, NY, etc...).

The US is a Republic, not a Democracy. If it were a Democracy, btw, slavery would have lasted a lot longer, women's suffrage would have been delayed, etc.

I meant electoral votes not the popular vote. BTW he's ahead in both.

Just because France is a republic, does it mean that it is not a democracy? Of course not.

I think nerdalert is saying that democracy is majority rule. In a "true" democracy, the judicial branch wouldn't be able to strike down ballot measures for being unconstitutional, nor would the president be able to pass legislation that a majority of the population opposed, such as women's suffrage or ending slavery. Thank goodness, then, that there are no true democracies. Nevertheless, nothing about being a republic prevents the US from eliminating the Electoral College and making it so that the person elected by the majority wins the election. Be as democratic as you can be!

He's ahead in PA, and that will give him 20 electoral votes and the presidency.

Biden won! No recount in Pennsylvania, so he won't lose no matter what!
