Tchequie is not a country. The actual French term for it is "République tchèque".

Note trouvée sur Wiktionnaire (article "Tchéquie") : " Le ministère tchèque des Affaires étrangères a annoncé en 1993 que le nom Česko (« Tchéquie ») devrait être utilisé préférablement à République tchèque, dans toutes les situations autres que les documents officiels et les noms complets des institutions gouvernementales. " Voilà :) This is a note from Wiktionnary about athe czech miniter of foreign affairs stating that Česko (fr: Tchéquie, en:Czechia) must be used instead of Czech Republic, except in official documents and governmental institutions. So the French are right :)

If "Tchequie" is going to be used for the Czech Republic in deference to its government's preference (not that I disagree at all), then "Cote d'Ivoire" and "Cabo Verde" must also be the accepted forms for those countries, as their governments prefer.
