My home county is the most-guessed on here. Interesting.

With a population of 1.1 mil, Fairfax County is nearly a city unto itself. You could even call Tysons downtown and Reston uptown, each its own urban center.

I have lived in Virginia for more than 2/3 of my life, in three separate areas of the state, and I still only got 40. Yikes.

Up to 53 this time! And still only in the 74th percentile. I suspect cheating is rampant on this one...

I can't imagine being interested enough in this to know more than 15 or 20 max. I'm a Virginian born and raised.

I really like the hover feature to see what counties are where. Nicely done

Another Virginian here. I got them all without looking anywhere else, but you better believe I had to take it untimed. If anyone ever gets them all in the time limit without cheating, there's something wrong with you (being from South Central VA and growing up in the middle of nowhere, I guess I have an advantage when it comes to this, because I had to drive through way more of these counties to get anywhere important than city folks like kalbahamut would have)

Yeah, that area is my biggest weakness. I always get them all northeast of the line from Staunton to Hampton Roads, but only a smattering of the south central and southwestern ones...

I got them all too without looking, it helps that I'm from SWVA, but it was at the cost of having to spend some time on the Northern Neck.

is it bad that I only know the counties is NOVA plus henrico and some generic names that I guesses.

Not really. My high score is 18, though on the last go-round can't believe I missed Loudon, Prince George, and Prince Edward. Could probably get up to 30 or 40 with a couple more tries but I'm not sure why I'd want to. Seems like totally useless information.

Very happy my home county is so high up (Orange, 54%). I guess being the name of a color, and a common color for counties probably is the main reason and not us being that famous

Another Virginian here. I only got 29, which is an appropriate number as someone who has driven down Route 29 plenty of times. And having driven the entire length of Rte. 29 from Gainesville to Danville, I only knew the counties north of Albermarle along that route. There are plenty of other counties throughout the state that I should have thought of in hindsight.

Congrats to whoever got Southampton... lived here all my life and there's absolutely nothing here except farmland. So, if you like cotton, corn, and terrible internet connection, please come visit :)

This really needs to add all the independent areas. The U.S. Census Bureau includes those 39 areas in their national count lists, and describes Virginia as having 134 “county and equivalents.” And it’s not just the U.S.C.B. I’ve yet to find any resource that doesn’t list Virginia at 134.

It's funny that the 3rd most guessed county (Richmond) is only guessed because of the capital, despite Richmond County being super obscure and in a whole other part of the state. Also, knowing British counties and royalty will get you like half of these lol.
