My source is Wikipedia. That says Jasper is a "specialised municipality" whose governance is shared with Parks Canada - my quiz instructions specifically excluded these. Fort McMurray is an "urban service area" within Wood Buffalo Regional Municipality (itself a "specialised municipality"), having surrendered its city status in 1995. Alberta surely has a complicated system of local government - blame the Mounties, I guess!
