Maybe as has happened in Ukraine / Russia problems with the Crimean peninsula things may prove stable, but the fact is ...............India does have around 330 kms of International border with Afghanistan via State of Jammu & kashmir which legitimately & formally acceded to India through instrument of succession (like any of 600 states merging with either Pakistan or India) However, since the Gilgit Baltistan province of J & K is illegally occupied by Pakistan that has established its de facto control there, India is currently unable to get access to its land border with Afghanistan,

India 1.3 billion , China 1.4 billion Pakistan 192 million ...... all those people and none of them agree where the boundaries go. So I've kept it fairly simple.... Time will tell I hope.
