Right? I remember the moment pretty well, but with the MCU being as big as it is, sometimes exactly where and when those moments happened is kind of a blur to me.
Exactly the same here, 18/20. Was torn between Avengers and Winter Soldier. Seen them all multiple times, but couldn't place the exact movie for that line.
Also had no idea on the "But for me, it was Tuesday." line. Haven't seen that movie.
Well it's absolutely not iconic. If you weren't between the ages of 9-15 when it came out, I doubt you'd have seen it. It's actually pretty bad, although I like it for sentimental reasons. It's kind of infamous because it was supposed to launch a series of video game/superhero movies, but it was such a disaster that they canceled the whole project. There's a really good article about it here: https://www.polygon.com/features/2014/3/10/5451014/street-fighter-the-movie-what-went-wrong And that's to say nothing of the fact that the all-American military hero speaks with a Belgian accent.
You way misunderstood it jmellor! Just for starters, Van Damme isn't supposed to be an "all-American hero" - they very neatly parried around the nationality of Guile by making him a commander in a multi-national defence force.
Anyway, I never claimed it was a good film, and I don't remember it winning all that many Academy Awards in '94, but it is definitely iconic as a ridiculously fun, OTT, camp, star-studded fan-favourite! It apparently made Capcom alone $165m from box office sales, before even counting VHS etc!
Wow, surprised by some of the low scores here. Would have thought Caddyshack and Princess Bride would easily be over 50%, and Airplane just over. You people need to see some more 80s comedies!! :-)
Got them all except the MCU, which I continue to know nothing about. Street Fighter was a terrible movie, but I always thought that line was absolutely awesome.
Remember when you could pay exorbitant amounts of money to watch movies in hotel rooms? That's how I saw Street Fighter. I was SO disappointed. But the quote is very good... and also literally the only part of the movie I remember.
Also had no idea on the "But for me, it was Tuesday." line. Haven't seen that movie.
*googles it*
Holy crap! And she looks almost the same as she does today! She ages almost as slowly as Paul Rudd.

Kenny from South Park did well by it though.
