Well, apparently Samoa Joe is now WWE U.S. Champion. Talk about too little and about a year and half too late. Plus the WWE is doing some kind of baby face push for Kofi Kingston. Making him go through a gauntlet to qualify for a world title shot again at Wrestlemania. WWE booking at it's illogical best. Actually, while we're at it why not book 'ole Brock to drop the Universal strap to Hornswoggle! I know...I know. This makes about as much sense as Joe being U.S. champion and Kofi getting a serious push to challenge for the World Title.

Kofi was added to the Elimination Chamber last minute as a replacement when Mustafa Ali got injured. Then to make it look like he actually belonged there and wasn't just filling space, he had a GREAT showing in a gauntlet match on Smackdown between the six participants. Seriously, look for that match on YouTube if you can. The crowd got majorly behind Kofi, so when WWE tried to put him back in his normal spot people were not having it, and crapped all over the WWE title match at Fastlane. As for Joe being US Champion, I think it's less than he deserves but it's better than nothing. If they actually book it well then it could be a good thing. However, WWE is chronically incapable of booking their midcard titles well for more than a few weeks at a time, so this is unlikely. And you joke about Hornswoggle, but I would literally take him as champion over Brock if I had the choice. I hate Hornswoggle as a character, but I hate Brock more.

From what I heard Kingston is making a good showing nowadays in his matches. Believe it or not, Mark Henry's big pushes were a result of being rewarded for great work ethic. They sent him (and Big Show) back down to developmental (OVW) just before their pushes to retrain, regroup and get back into shape. They both put in the good work and also made a positive impact upon the roster at OVW. So both Show and Mark Henry were given a good push and made champions not only because they could at most times either draw heat or cheers from the fans but also for their work. Where as today, somebody just doesn't get a boo from the crowd and / or is deemed as a risk that they may jump ship and all of sudden they emerge out of no where as a main eventer. Seems to me like nowadays Vince McMahon is booking out of fear / panic and not because he has trust and faith in his wrestlers..oops I mean Sports Entertainers.

To be honest, while I find Mark Henry a likable guy I have never been a fan of his ring work, not even during his main event push. I'm not going to say that he shouldn't have been given a championship run, but I didn't particularly enjoy it and wouldn't have felt like he was unfairly overlooked if he didn't get it.

With regard to booking, it does often seem like WWE makes a lot of poorly thought-out, knee-jerk decisions. Like signing people they have no plans for, just to get them off the market so other promotions can't have them. That's wasteful and stupid. Or like you said, giving someone a quick push just because they might be about to leave, only to then do nothing with them once they're committed to a longer-term deal. Most of all though, their problem is their inability to create new stars. For year after year starting in the mid-2000s, every time someone started to get popular they would job them to Cena and cut off their momentum at the knees. And then they wonder why they had to keep relying on part-timers like Triple H and Undertaker to sell tickets. Now those part-timers appear so seldom that they can no longer save the weekly ratings, and they STILL cut off rising stars' momentum more often than they just go with it to see what happens.

Lots of new interesting information I have come across about this years Wrestlemania such as the venue where it is being held. It is maybe an hour and half drive from where I reside. Also saw that Roman Reigns is set to square off against Drew McIntyre (don't see the point), Batista is having one last match against HHH (stupid plus why does Batista want to return after a 5+ year hiatus just to job for HHH?) And Kurt Angle is set to have his retirement match either supposedly against Cena or Samoa Joe. I like Cena, but if you haven't seen too much of TNA / Impact, then Kurt Angle vs Samoa Joe matches I can only describe as "epic". Fans at the Met Life stadium will be cheering and chanting " THIS IS AWESOME " during most points of the match. Unless of course they " WWE-Ize" the match and then it would be a flop much like Styles vs Joe was.

I think Reigns vs. McIntyre is just to get Roman on the card. They probably didn't plan anything for him in advance because they weren't sure if he'd be back in time for Wrestlemania, so I'm inclined to cut them some slack there. Plus I'm glad they haven't just shoehorned him into the Rollins/Lesnar match. As for Batista, I've heard that he was really disappointed with his return in 2014 (and who can blame him?). Supposedly he wanted to come back as a heel but they made him be a face because of Guardians of the Galaxy coming out, and of course he got booed and forced to turn heel anyway because of the Daniel Bryan situation. I think him vs. HHH is fine because it means HHH isn't derailing any current stars this time around.

I agree that Reigns being thrown into the Universal title match would be silly and premature. Then again i think he's wasting time playing around with Drew McIntyre. He would have been better off just making an impactful appearance at Wrestlemania. Perhaps a story line where he gets involved some how in the Universal Title match. Maybe if Rollins wins, he comes out to congratulate him and somehow he ends up bumping heads with Lesnar. Perhaps another scenario could be that Rollins is not as gracious in accepting Reigns' congratulatory gesture and some friction develops there. He does not need to jump in to the ring right away just to ensure that he takes part in Wrestlemania 35.

Yeah, a match with McIntyre really sounds like something being thrown together last minute. I hear people talk about Drew supposedly being in for a big push, but I haven't seen enough of WWE programming to decide whether I believe that, or whether I think it's just wishful thinking on their part. At the very least he's a credible threat now and not a comedy jobber (although honestly, I loved 3MB quite a lot). I do wonder why they didn't save Roman's return for Wrestlemania or the night after, but I'm at least glad that he was able to come back in time for a Shield sendoff before Ambrose leaves (assuming that whole thing is not a work).

As for HHH/Batista, I have no idea who will win that. I do think it's a weird choice for HHH to act like the babyface in this feud, though if it's true Batista wanted to be heel then I guess that would explain it. However, even if HHH wins in dominant fashion, better that it be against Batista instead of him going over some current star. Wouldn't want to see HHH go over Kevin Owens or something like that.

I'm fine with Angle going out vs. either Joe or Cena. While he might have a better match with Joe, he'd also have a very good one with Cena. And if he fights Cena then I can root for Angle without being conflicted (not that I hate Cena but I like Angle MUCH more), whereas if he faces Joe then I still want Angle to win but Joe doesn't need the loss. Either way is acceptable to me, though.

I'm on the opposite side on this one. If it is Angle vs Joe, I'm rooting for Joe to win as i did when they went at it back in their TNA / Impact days. Angle was a stone cold heel for most of his time there. Joe was usually at best a tweener. But when Angle went over to TNA / impact I already had enough of him. However i always did and still do respect his amazing skill and work.

Angle is one of my top five wrestlers of all time (I'd say probably third behind Eddie Guerrero and Undertaker), so I'm going to root for him against pretty much anyone. I have heard speculation that he could face Taker for his retirement match, but I really doubt that will happen and I also do not want to see it because Taker's matches make me sad nowadays.

There's no disputing that Kurt Angle is one of the greatest wrestlers. I too would not want to see taker take him on. I wouldn't want to see either lose in that match. Then again despite my bias in favor of Samoa Joe I wouldn't want Angles' last match to be a loss for him. I also don't want to see Joe lose anymore matches. Same for Cena vs Angle, don't want either to retire with one last loss. So these are times of conflict for me.

I doubt Cena will retire any time soon. He will probably not be a full-time performer ever again, but I expect him to pop up here and there as a part-timer for a long time. That's why I wouldn't mind him facing Angle and losing (or maybe winning, if it's done similar to the HBK/Flair match, I suppose).

I just got myself to watch an episode of Raw. It was the recent March 18th episode. It was posted on YouTube by a an overseas user, the video standard difference must have accounted for the lackluster audio. The play speed was a little fast which explains why anytime someone spoke they sounded either like they were from the kingdom of Lilliput or as if they just took a big ole puff of helium. Therefore I fast forwarded through a good portion of the under 1hour 56minute video. Well that and because some of the content really sucked. Here's my take:

Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman opened the show and Heyman jibber Jabbering about How the reason Brock is on tonight is because of Seth Rollins' apparent trash talking last week. Then Heyman reminds everyone how Lesnar beat Styles, D-Bryan and Balor and Rollins himself. At that point Drew MacIntyre interrupts things comes out (Not very impressed with this dude ).......

He then does a promo bragging about how he whopped Roman Reigns last week and Dean Ambrose and how he also "brutalized" Rollins and tonight he'll do it again. Then he talks to Lesnar and tells him "Brock I hate to inform you that after tonight you'll need to look for a new opponent to face you at Wrestlemania" after which Rollins comes out and attacks McIntyre from behind with a chair knocking him down and repeatedly beats on him with the chair. Rollins next goes into the ring and ends up chasing Lesnar and Heyman out. Some back and forth trash talk. Then Lesnar goes away. Next I see Balor doing a promo lementing how he apparently lost the I.C. belt back to Lashley (oh well AEW here we come). They replay video from the match which shows this skinny little bald dude emerge from the spectators and prematurely rings the match bell distracting Balor, who goes out to the floor when he realizes who this guy is. Dilo Rush. Should be more like Skee-Lo Rush.......

It's Lio Rush. He's pretty much Lashley's manager at this point, although I think he used to be a 205 Live guy? Not really sure. Because Dilo looks and is built just like Skee-Lo (the rapper from the 1990's).So then Lashley and DiLo come out and confront Balor and challenges him to what they think is a handicap tag match only to have Balor refute them. He then announces he has a partner....Braun Strowman, so now we have an impromptu proper tag match. I fast forwarded. Then Alexa Bliss is still not wrestling and is doing a talk show angle called "A moment of Bliss" talking about how she is going to be the host of Wrestlemania. Fast forwarded again. Now I see Bayley and Sasha in the ring attempting to do a promo. They're still tag champs. They get interrupted by Natalya and someone who I can only assume looks like Beth Phoenix, blah blah they announce their intentions to enter some competition to win the tag belts so they can stick it to Nia Jax and her partner. Also forgot to mention that earlier it was announced that Dana Brooks will be Facing Ronda Rousey for the Women's Title that night.....

Yep, that is Beth Phoenix. They're setting up some giant multi-team clusterfuck for Wrestlemania for the women's tag championships, and for some reason Beth Phoenix is coming back to team with Natalya for that (I doubt they'll win though since then Beth would have to stick around to defend it).

Fast forwarded again, I finally also saw Ricchochet. Wow, not impressed. He looks like a bald albeit a bit more muscular Finn Balor. He wrestles someone I don't even know. A series of acrobatic moves, flips, high flying, high kicks boom he wins. Next is the Raw Women's title match. Lol...Lol. Both stars come to the ring. Rousey immediately gets in Brooks' face and gestures with the belt. Bell rings they square off. Rousey attempts to kick Brooks who does a nice catch of that leg and then slaps Rousey in the face. Rousey then jumps up (as if she were attempting a hybrid drop kick) and catches Brooks' neck with the one leg, takes Brooks down and instantly transitions into an arm bar. Brooks screams and taps out in like 3 seconds. Rousey obviously perturbed does not let go for at least another 15 seconds. She then relents leaving Brooks screaming and crying in agony. Then immediately Rousey exits the ring........

Then gets up and continues on with her hubby. Then security personnel surround Rousey, she starts getting defensive then her hubby reaches over the security barrier grabs her from behind scoops her up and into the crowd and starts pulling her away. They end up defiantly returning to the backstage. This whole post match side show lasted much longer than the actual "squash" match did. This entertained me a bit. Next they cut backstage to Alexa Bliss and Strowman. He's pissed, I assume either at Balor or Lashley or Dilo. He wants to hurt one or all of them. Bliss again reminds everyone that she is the host of Mania 35 and that its her job to ensure it goes all down without a hitch. She offers to Broker a peace between the two of them...Strowman states he was disrespected......

They're working hard to get Ronda some heel heat. As for the Alexa Bliss thing, I think they're playing off her past history with Strowman in the mixed match challenge, which is a nice little throwback. So after some pleading from Bliss he agrees to give her a week to broker this peace. Otherwise he promises to beat the heck out of whoever he's pissed at. End segment. Then fast forward to final match. Drew McIntyre vs Seth Rollins. Good match. Lasted about 15 minutes. They beat the heck out of out each other, one high risk move after another, including several moves off the top rope including Suplex's. Both kick out every time the other covers. Finally it's Rollins with the upper hand. After McIntyre kicks out for the umpteenth time, Rollins is frustrated and rabid. He then slingshots off the rope to attempt another maneuver only to suddenly have Lesnars song play, he emerges from back stage and of course distracts Rollins. Suddenly McIntyre out of no where when Rollins turns around hits him with a running japanese drop kick. McIntyre gets the win. He has defeated every Shield member. Lesnar and Heyman look pleased and the Show ends with a defeated Seth Rollins.

It was a not a great show. IMHO the highlights of the night were Ronda Rousey and the final match. Batista did do a promo interview supposedly from his home and he badmouthed HHH, most of which is probably true but I won't go into what went on there. I would give what I was able to watch a generous 2.5 stars out of 4. Lesson learned is that Raw still sucks. Don't watch videos on a device and that "there's no such thing as a free lunch". A free full episode video of Raw will have suckey video and audio quality and the program won't be displayed in full screen. Vince McMahon's flagship show is indeed floundering. So are the careers of Braun Strowman, Finn Balor, Sasha Banks and Bayley. I want a refund.

Well, you can't expect great quality from a pirated source. The audio being sped up is likely an attempt to dodge a copyright takedown of the video. I didn't enter into it with great expectations. So it was real crap that it disappointed as much. Bad story lines have become the norm in the WWE and once in a blue moon a great promo, story line and match is something newsworthy. Almost feels like an aberration. I just don't watch because with out having cable or satellite it isn't really the same. That and the crap content nowadays. As much as i don't care for Lesnar, his presence in the WWE would not be enough to dissuade me from being a viewer. No single performer would do that.

Truth be told, I have not watched WWE on a weekly basis since about 2007. I came back briefly when Bret Hart returned to Raw in 2010, again in 2011 when CM Punk dropped his infamous "pipebomb" promo, and have pretty much followed only sporadically ever since. I got so sick of Brock Lesnar though, that I have not watched a WWE broadcast since Wrestlemania 33, except for the occasional YouTube clip, and one time a friend put on an NXT show in the background when I was visiting him. Lesnar being gone would not fix the terrible writing in WWE, but I will not contribute ratings or money to the company while he is still there.

The story now about why Arn Anderson was fired is that he let an obviously drunk Alicia Fox wrestle a match instead of removing her, and the company blamed him for allowing something so risky to happen. Okay, Well, Ole Double A is from the Old School. Therefore, an inebriated performer is not news to him. Back in the day they used to be drunk and high all the time and still managed to put on a good show most of the time. As a matter of fact, one infamous example is Ric Flair wrestling and defending the NWA World Title against an obviously high Kerry Von Erich when he was touring in Texas. After the match reportedly Ric Flair was so pissed that he pulled a Brock Lesnar and threw the NWA World strap at i believe either the NWA president or the booker backstage. Of course no one got fired for that. They actually fabricated a story line to excuse Kerry's lackluster performance that night. A bad case of Flu and a high fever, yet he heroically soldiered through the match so as to not disappoint his legions of fans.

That kind of thing just doesn't fly anymore, thanks to all the wrestlers that have died young (I actually made a quiz of them, there are so many), and thanks to Jeff Hardy's infamous performance at TNA's Victory Road in I think 2011 where he was far too wasted to wrestle, and Sting was forced to abort the match by literally knocking Jeff down and holding him down for a fast 3-count. Nowadays they have to take these problems seriously. No word yet on what consequences Alicia Fox herself might have suffered for this incident, but I guess WWE felt that as the agent Arn Anderson should not have allowed the match to go on.

This became apparent to me especially when yesterday i happened to be listening to some talk radio show that originates from the NewYork City market which usually is rather serious and conservative. Mind you they refer to this program as the npr of the conservatives. From beginning to the end of this program their transitional music for this particular episode consisted of WWE stars entrance songs. The show opened with Brock Lesnars song, then during another segment i heard John Cenas, then HHH, then upon completion of a segment discussing China they played the Hart foundations song and the last segment of the show involved discussion about some tragic figure in american biographic literature which they then ended with UnderTakers For Whom The Bell Tolls. It seems like the show had a whole lotta "feel good" results. I'm glad about two out of the three outcomes (The Irish Lass Kicker winning and The Architect taking the Universal title off of Lesnar). However, Kofi Kingston as World Champion? I don't know. Do you like it? I mean Samoa Joe submitting Rey Mysterio to keep the U.S. title just didn't prove satisfactory. Joe should have been winning the World Title and let Kofi be U.S. Champion. That's just my two cents. Also where does this leave D-Bryan? The womens unification title match ending i think was some kind of a work to ensure that the door is open for Ronda Rousey by perhaps giving her a legitimate beef with the ending. Perhaps the WWE wants to set up a match between Ronda and Becky for the undisputed Womens Championship. Just keep Charlotte the eff away from it this time.

Kofi has been US champ 3 times and Intercontinental champ 4 times, so him winning another midcard belt would be no big deal. I like seeing him make it to the top of the mountain for what will likely be his one and only time. It reminds me a lot of Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit in 2004, or Christian finally winning the big one in 2011 (before they screwed that up by having him lose it 2 days later). And the story they told between Kofi and Bryan was excellent, from what I've seen on YouTube. I actually like Kofi winning quite a lot, though I have yet to see the actual match. I don't expect him to hold the title more than a few months at most, so I'm all about enjoying this while it lasts. As for Joe, he squashed a legend like Rey Mysterio in like a minute and a half, didn't he? What's not to like there? I've heard speculation that Rey wasn't in condition for a longer match and that's why they did a fast squash, but even if that's true it helps make Joe look dangerous again.

As for the women's match, I have heard conflicting stories - one that it was done to protect Rousey, and the other that it was a simple botch. Not having seen the actual match myself, I don't have an opinion on which is more likely. I do think however that since it happened, another match between them (without Charlotte) would be something worth seeing. I also keep seeing people say that they expect Ronda to leave, but I've heard no actual evidence or reasoning for this assumption. It could be that others have access to info that I don't, but it seems to me like she wants to be there so I don't get why people think she wants out.

Yeah... I don't think they have a plan for Asuka at all. I think they don't have any idea what to do with anyone outside the singles and tag feuds in the women's division, and everyone else (Asuka included) is just going to be left by the wayside. I'm nervous at the idea of Wyatt getting repackaged. I think he's done as well as could be expected, given that WWE never booked him well during that whole time. But with this character taken away, will he be able to get over again? Time will tell. I didn't care about him when he was Husky Harris.

Well maybe Ted Dibiase Jr. needs to return. Do you see where i'm going with this? Get the sons of Ted Dibiase Sr and Micheal Rotundo together and we got "The New.....Money Inc." Let's see if they can fill their respective fathers shoes. Randy Orton took the family legacy to a whole other level. If by no other feat than winning the World Title over a dozen times. Randy really never portrayed any kind of compelling or original character. He basically was the same old self serving, brutal, hired gun, heelish prick character that his father was. With the only real difference being that he won just about every title available in the WWE in both singles and tag team competition. Being an extension or a product of a family legacy has it's rewards. Just ask Charlotte and just about every Samoan superstar (with the exception of Joe). It may work for Bray. The whole Wyatt family thing was Vince's attempt to make money off the popularity of True Blood and The Walking Dead

As far as I know, Ted DiBiase Jr. is out of the wrestling business entirely. I didn't hate the guy (I actually thought he was slightly better than Cody back in the Legacy days), but I never cared that much about him either. I don't think forming a new Money, Inc. would work out very well. Windham Rotunda (aka Bray Wyatt) has already surpassed his father's legacy in my opinion. Even if WWE mishandled his push, he still led a cool faction and is a former WWE champion. Irwin R. Schyster was what, a 5-time tag team champion who is best remembered for a tax collector gimmick? Plus I just can't picture him and Ted Jr. together. I think the other Rotunda son (Bo Dallas) could pull it off better, if anything.

Randy Orton is a weird case. Here's a guy with boatloads of wrestling ability, who isn't among the all-time greats on the mic but can get the job done, who has a ton of accolades to his name but still often feels like he's just kinda there. He's done memorable stuff like his Legend Killer gimmick, his feud with HHH back when he was punting everyone, great matches with Christian in 2011 (even if I hated how one-sided that feud was), but then he's also had long stretches where it seems like he's unmotivated, and he seems to deliberately wrestle boring matches when he's a heel. I do think he's long surpassed his father as well. I admit to not watching much back in the 80s, but I don't think Cowboy Bob Orton is exactly up there among names like Hulk Hogan, Andre the Giant, Rowdy Roddy Piper, or Macho Man Randy Savage, you know?

Ric Flair and John Cena and HHH. That's it.

As far as Ole Husky Harris. His father IRS was a big deal in the NWA / early WCW. He held there the NWA world tag title, World Television Belt and I do believe he may have even held the U.S. belt. That is not to detract to from Bray Wyatts world title runs in singles and tag team competition. But he still has some csthcing up to do to his dad and uncle. His uncle Barry was offered the opportunity to be the Man in the NWA but just wasn't motivated and interested...the stories go. Barry Windham may have been NWA world champion on at least two occassions. Hopefully the WWE will come up with a fresh concept for Windham Rotundo...one that will be successfull for him.

Last week on Raw there was some little vignette involving what I swear looks like a hand puppet of a buzzard. Speculation is that it's to do with Bray Wyatt returning. It's like he's turning into a real-life Scooby Doo villain. It's probably a good thing there's not a new Scooby film debuting, or they'd likely invite the cast to Raw as their characters and have Bray Wyatt chase them around in a bedsheet ghost costume.

Well some interesting post Wrestlemania rumors. Ole Crock Lesnar arrived late for the show, demanded to be the last match. Told no. Then threw a fit and demanded to be first match. To this request Vince Mcmahon obviously relented. Then after the match he almost immediately left in a Helicopter. Sad thing is Vince Mcmahon continues to tolerate it and will continue doing so. Also heard that Sasha Banks and Bayley losing the tag titles was a sandbag last minute decision. So now both Sasha and Bayley are pissed and who knows may be talking to AEW.

I've heard similar about the women's tag titles. Supposedly Sasha and Bayley were supposed to hold the tag titles for a long time, and after being told last minute that they were dropping the belts, Sasha asked for her release. Instead she's been given a few weeks of leave to cool off and think about it. I hadn't heard that about Lesnar, other than Heyman saying something to that effect when he came out on Wrestlemania. I'm inclined to think it's just kayfabe-blurring rumors, maybe even started by Heyman himself. Surely no one getting paid so much for so little work could be THAT immature.

I see your dilemma in trying to create a fresh quiz that also can compete for peoples attention for one of those prominently featured catagories that are already oversaturated with quiz content. Best thing i recommend is to determine what void needs to be filled as far as quiz content on this site. Next determine if this void is something you are able to fill and fill it better than the next "schnook" can. Also decide if you really want to undertake this task...if it is something you truly enjoy and are passionate about. I just found out that AJ Styles has now been drafted to RAW. I opine that certainly Smack Down live will lose some of its excitement without Styles. On the other hand, this move will serve to direct Raw back on the path to becoming the great program it once was. Don't get me wrong. I am not proclaiming at all that AJ Styles alone would be part and parcel to rebuilding the Red Brand. However, he would be a vital cog in the mechanism of transformation for RAW. I would find it exciting if Mcmahon would put the newly legitimized WWE Universal Title one of these days around the waist of Styles. It'd be history making as Styles was former NWA and TNA World Champion on multiple occassions in addition to his run as WWE World HeavyWeight Champion. For now i am content with Rollins as the Universal Champion. This too is part of the "Great Transformation" of RAW. A step in the right direction to ridding the stench of Brock's Crock from RAW and The WWE. I hope Vinny Mac follows through with this.

I think the best part of moving Styles to Raw is that it will give him an opportunity for fresh rivalries. I think he and Rollins could put on amazing matches together, and I'm sure Styles will win the Universal title at some point. I rather hope that he doesn't dive straight into it though, simply because I want Rollins to have a good reign but I also want Styles to win the title without having to challenge for it like 4 times in a row. What I'd do is have Styles come out and announce his intention to go for the belt, only to get interrupted by someone and sidetracked into a feud with them for a few months before earning a championship opportunity.

Certainly it does open up a few opportunities to craft some crowd pleasing storyline rivalries / feuds on Raw by Styles' arrival on the roster. Seth Rollins is a definite "no-brainer" future opponent for him whether he is Universal Champion or not at the time. Plus Roman Reigns, Drew Mcintyre, his old TNA mate Bobby Rood and even Kurt Angle (if decides that his retirement was just b.s.). WWE already smells better without Crock Lesnar. I will give Vince Mcmahon credit....during the last 30 days i have been distracted by the WWE's antics and have not really thought about AEW. On the other hand, his treatment of Sasha Banks and Bayley as of late has probably squarely and prominently placed AEW into their respective minds. My next three picks for Universal Champion after Rollins has a good solid run with it are 1. Bobby Lashley, 2. Roman Reigns and 3. AJ Styles.

I believe Roman Reigns went to Smackdown in the superstar shake up, so he's not going to fit into the Universal title scene for awhile. Instead, he's likely to either take the WWE Championship off of Kofi or off of whoever beats Kofi. I'm a bit concerned that the WWE is frittering away Roman Reigns' star power. His return was rather uneventful. Who knows. Vince MacMahon may be attempting to protect Reigns for the time being. Drew Mcintyre is rumored to be considered as a contender for the Universal title soon. Unfortunately Crock Lesnar ia rumored to be figured in for some future appearences. Possibly in a storyline against Bobby Lashley. That may be good news for Lashley as it would further elevate his starpower and appeal especially if he wins against Lesnar. Again the bad news is the WWE is not going to be a Crock Free zone for long as i had hoped it would be. I'd guess that The Miz does have some kind of a significant push in his future. No wrestler tangles with a Mcmahon unless the Mcmahons have decided that particular star is to be elevated. Just look at Stone Cold, The Rock, Hulk Hogan, Mic Foley, DX and The Shield.

WWE is all about squandering talent and star power anymore. That's why so many people are asking for their release. Roman could use a break from the main event anyway - I bet they aren't willing to declare the Reigns experiment over yet by any means. That"s true. I think Vince Mcmahon will find out the hard way that he can't just throw money at all his problems and expect to solve it. The rumors about Reigns are that Vince Mcmahon wants to protect Roman from any further heat from the fans. He doesn't want a potential red hot baby face from being booed again by the fan, which is why he is being kept at arms length from the World / Universal Title scene. I guess in that respect (if it is true)...the WWE has the right idea. On another interesting note, did you see the new gimmick they have worked out for Bray Wyatt? A Creepy modern day Mister Rogers sort of character. Who knows if it will work. I know that it makes absolutely no sense to me...that character. But i wish all the best for Ole Bray Wyatt. If things don't work out, there's always AEW. Seems like Crock Lesnar vs Bobby Lashley will happen. So if Lashley shows well against Lesnar, his star will only be on the rise then.

What gets me is that WWE is clearly just trying to throw money at every wrestler that makes a name for themselves somewhere just to keep them away from competition. They're throwing away a lot of money at people who they have no intention of doing anything with. I mean, I'm glad they're keeping so many people employed instead of just padding Vince's bank account, but they could be using who they already have SO much better. I do hope that they keep Roman out of the title scene for a bit and let him have a chance to get over organically. I still think they'd be better off with a group of 3-4 top guys instead of trying to have one top star that they put above everyone else, but we'll see if they do that. Wyatt's new character is... weird. He has the chops to pull it off in those little skits, but I am very skeptical of how they are going to translate this back to the wrestling ring. If anyone can make it work he can, but I see a lot of ways this gimmick could fail.

I agree that Vince Mcmahon is obsessed with keeping any and every wrestler that he can away from the other promotions...even if he has no major plans for them. Yes it is a huge waste of money, especially when you do the math. I mean he could use a portion of the funds (he'd use towards signing and keeping wrestlers under his thumb) towards maybe a pension plan for his committed stars who have served him well over the years (including some of the jobbers) and / or purchase health insurance for every wrestler during their contract tenure.

Probably the most exciting event to occur in the wrestling world since the Attitude era and the Monday Night Wars. The wrestling world will have their first "face" of this movement. Also when they talk about Ohh Seth Rollins is the best wrestler in the world or AJ Styles is the best or Brock Lesnar dominates sports entertainment wrestling. There will be a prominent "800LB Gorilla" in the room that would need to be addressed and the name of this thorn in the side of the WWE will be either Kenny Omega or Chris Jericho !!!! The eyes of the wrestling world as a whole will be on these two men. Omega is probably the most amazing star in wrestling right now and Jericho is a leviathan of professional wrestling, a legend. I don't think they will or should continue to take talent from WWE on a large scale. That's what TNA did a decade ago and it did them more harm than good. For every fan who thinks "awesome, AEW is going to use this wrestler right when WWE never could" there is another who thinks "oh, that guy went to AEW because he couldn't make it in WWE." On top of that, if every ex-WWE guy comes in and gets a big push, that's going to come at the expense of someone else, and that creates a situation like TNA where their homegrown guys get jobbed out to WWE's castoffs.

I don't have a problem with them signing people from WWE, but they need to do it fairly rarely and only sign the right people, at least until they reach a point where they are competing on a close level to WWE's regular programming. They need to prove to the world at large (not just wrestling fans disillusioned with the current state of WWE) that they can compete.

I don't think that the AEW can or will do a massive "talent grab". For one thing it isn't financially viable for them. You also can't run a promotion the same way the WWE is nowadays. There you have a few hand picked members of the talent roster getting pushed to the moon while the rest are dumped on and / or buried. I agree that every superstar can't be pushed all at the same time. I also agree that there are members of a roster who simply isn't cut out to be the face that runs that respective place. However a promotion could be a bit more liberal and generous with how many stars they push at a given time and how far they are willing to go with their respective story lines / pushes. Every talented, dedicated and hard working member of a roster can be pushed at one point or another. Feuds and story lines as well as title reigns don't need to last for years to put a star over with the fans.

Well one of the Stars on the list was recently involved in the main event match of Super Showdown in Saudi Arabia. The third Universal Champion in its history...Goldberg. He faced The Dead Man. If you haven't seen it...all i can say is please don't. Neither men performed even admirably much less fantastically (or Phenomenally). The entrances contained the usual pomp and hype that a big WWE show would have and the first 1 to 2 minutes of the actual match looked good for both men, Goldberg even resorted to using a little actual wrestling on the Taker. But after some botches on the part of Goldberg or Taker or maybe from both, the match was going over like a lead balloon. Goldberg unintentionally got color and may have sustained an actual concussion. Then also factor in the middle eastern heat and both mens age (this was an outdoor venue) they basically put on a dangerous and sloppy show............

Not only are they a naked cash grab and proof that WWE will do anything for a buck, but they drag out big stars of yesteryear, many of whom can't or at least shouldn't still be wrestling, just to please their wealthy Saudi financiers. My concern isn't necessarily political (the fact that the WWE is doing business with the Saudi government). My concern is indeed that they are dragging out the careers of stars who should have retired at least 5 if not 10 years ago (and stayed retired) all in the name of fanfare and nostalgia. I agree that it is a cash grab on the part of all parties concerned...Vince Mcmahon and the wrestlers who agree to perform. The Saudi governments only sin with regards to this matter as far as I'm concerned is their Gluttony and Wasteful Excess. Pure and simple. The Saudis throwing such an obscene amount of money at WWE inc for securing shows in their country does nothing to better the lives of their citizens. Perhaps it provides some excitement for a few nights of the year in the lives of those citizens who are in the Upper echelons of Saudi society.

Finally having a women's tag division. But that's not enough to make up for the stuff they're doing wrong, such as wasting lots of talent, pushing Shane McMahon as some kind of superman who is better than everyone else, having too much programming with not enough effort put into it, overly scripting everyone's promos, not allowing superstars to get over if the company doesn't want them to, and most of all continuing to employ Brock Lesnar. But this whole part time performing, wealthy, pampered yuppie who can at any time rejoin competition and kick the ass of anybody he wants and when he wants to is ridiculous.
