Add some variants to the Scorcese clue, I never did get it right.

Added the maximum number of variants allowed. It's a tricky name.

Try the advanced regex option with this: "^(martin)?s[ck]ou?re?[sc]{1,2}[aei]{1,2}[sz]{1,2}[iey]", without the quotes. That should pick up a large number of variants right there, including something like "Scourescezzy"...pretty much anything that gets the basic outline of the name right.

Can't believe I missed some that I did. Fine quiz. Lots of good movies and good directors here. Except for Funny Games. I saw that on TV yesterday by random chance (I only get two English language channels here)- and thought it was one of the worst movies I've ever seen in my life. Just awful. I hated Hostel, too. I was forced to watch that for one of my film classes in college and I still haven't forgiven my teacher for it. I wasn't shy about telling her exactly what I thought of the film when I wrote my review. She wasn't happy.

Glad you enjoyed it! Hostel, in many ways, is just another gimmicky horror movie to draw a crowd. I get it. I strongly disagree with you on Funny Games. Not only has Haneke proven himself to be a true genre bending director with both vision and voice that is hard to define but he does with such powerful emotions. I believe Funny Games is a great example of this. The plot is simple, the point of the antagonists' actions is meaningless, and yet this is where the strength of the movie is drawn from. Like Takashi Miike films, by removing the plot's purpose allows for the viewer to elicit a more emotional response, one that resonates unique. Of course, there is no accounting for taste and this is my opinion :)

Fair enough. I don't begrudge anyone their enjoyment of a film/music/game/TV show/book. I still hate that movie. ;-)
