Yes, it is a hard question, but the Crimson Speckled Moth is indeed a Mediterranean question. It inhabits parts of Spain, Italy, and Malta, possibly other places.

I can't find any reference to it being called a "doomsday" moth, as that normally refers to a death's head moth. That clue was a bit confusing
