Thanks! Way back in th 1950s, fastest laps were awarded one point. However, fastest lap was timed with just seconds (for instance, 1:48), and was just timed by a guy with a stopwatch. Many drivers could then share the fastest lap, so they awarded fractions of points to the drivers that held the fastest lap. At one race, seven drivers shared fastest lap, and therefore each got one seventh of a point.
Also, surely Rhodesia and Zimbabwe should be acceptable answers instead of Republic of Rhodesia.
