All Active Separatist Movements

Can you guess every active separatist movement in the world? This quiz is updated as of March 26, 2022. Some separatist movements may have become defunct since the last update. Note that in the majority of these, only a few people actively seek to make these places independent or autonomous, not the entire population.
This includes secessionist and autonomist movements.
Western Sahara and Taiwan aren't included because they have never been under complete control by Morocco and China respectively and can't be considered separatists.

Why is that? Why should people should stay inside a country they don't feel comfortable with?

In order to put this test in line with the countries of the world, Taiwan should be excluded (is already considered an independent country) and include Western Sahara and Palestine (not considered countries by Jetpunk)

Western Sahara and Palestine are not de facto independent. Taiwan is de facto independent, but those places really aren't.

The Polisario government of Western Sahara currently controls some eastern land of Western Sahara's claimed territory, and functions independently out of Tifariti. Palestine controls the Gaza Strip and pockets of territory in the West Bank.

Western sahara?! And Taiwan is already considered independent so I don't even understand its inclusion
+1
Level 47
Jun 24, 2022
Western Sahara is not included because it has never been completely controlled by Morocco, and therefore can’t be considered as wanting independence when it is already independent.

The “Taiwan” on here represents the independence movement to form the Republic of Taiwan from the land of the Republic of China, not an independence movement of ROC from mainland China.
