I know that it should have been obvious, but I didn't get Elizabeth II... because she is NOT a former monarch. I don't think she should be on that quiz, and she should count for only one answer anyways.
I would have to argue that Queen Elizabeth is a former monarch, unlike other former European colonies of monarchies which are not included, the listed nations for Queen Elizabeth were at some point in the past both completely independent and also constitutionally had the British monarch as theirs, or in other terms a personal union.
The simple answer is, I didn’t know that Queen Margrethe had abdicated. I like to think I’m up to date on current events so I have no idea how I hadn’t heard.
