It is హైదరాబాద్. Telugu isn't a language that uses Latin script, so Hyderabad can't be the Telugu name. The Telugu is just Romanized for convenience and reach since there is a system for that.
And the romanization is Hyderabad. Thats why we write it that way. And reach? By writing it in a way no one has seen that is the opposite of reach and inconvenient.
There are a few different forms of romanisation, but the most commonly used one is this one. If you type హైదరాబాద్ in Google Translate, you can see the romanisation used in this quiz. If హైదరాబాద్ is translated to English, Hyderabad is the most accurate spelling as it matches English phonology the best. In Polish, it's "Hajdarabad", which is closer to the romanisation. Just because a name is used by the British doesn't mean it's invalid, even their name they used in the census is wrong.
(And if they can read the Telugu, they will read the right spelling of Hyderabad)
"they will read the right spelling" means you know it's wrong.
And if they can read, just take out the wrong english spelling entirely
