Looking great :D

Edit: The outlines of the header cells are still in default blue by the way. This minor issue is also on your other quizzes, but apart from that I really can't say anything negative about this. :)

Before I say anything else this quiz is amazing!

Now that being said I have two concerns:

Toronto should be represented by a star since it is the capital of Ontario.

Also, it is sort of misleading having the whole Aleutian Island chain as an answer, the category ‘Island’, led (at least myself) to think I had to name each highlighted island individually. However this can be reconciled by a quick glance at the answer boxes so it’s not really a problem.

Thanks for the feedback! Changed Toronto to a star and added a remark regarding the Aleutian islands to avoid any confusion.

great concept for a quiz totally enjoyed the challenge. I will say I couldn't see the peninsulas at all so I missed most of those. also somehow the map needs to zoom in better for catching items that are on top of each other like new york and Long Island. a bit bummed that Great Smoky was not accepted for national park. mountains and bodies of water were my weakest areas. but happy to get 121 on my first try. a little more time would have been nice too.

Thanks! Gonna accept Great Smoky. I don't have the visibility issues you mention on my screen. The peninsulas are perfectly visible, only when you guess the sea around it the contrast suffers so I might change that.

Love the quiz, but agree with Wardo -- some of the smaller features are almost impossible to see. I spent five minutes looking for the one peninsula I had missed, scanning the entire map zoomed in, but never saw Cape Cod. Same issue with Puget Sound. I don't know if it's better to add arrows to some more of the smaller features, or to add a "show missing items" feature.

You're right. I will add some arrows for the ones you mentioned as they are pretty hard to identify. Missing items requires adding the location data for each dot which is a lot of extra work..

If you could accept the Strait of Georgia as a type-in for the Salish Sea along with Juan de Fuca, I might enjoy it even more! 😁

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!

Both of these constitute the Salish Sea so in my view it wouldn't be completely accurate if these are accepted as well.

My suggestion would be to swap out Mount Bona for Mount St. Elias. I'm from Alaska, and I had never even heard of Mount Bona. St. Elias is taller, and the nearby national park is named after it.

Aaaargghh! I didn't know I have to guess the BLOODY OCEANS TOO!

But seriously, consider mentioning that in a caveat or making the color of water bodies different than the usual blue color, because it doesn't look like a guessable item.

I missed the oceans + great lakes too since I couldn't tell they were being asked. I couldn't figure out what the black lines were for, although that is somewhat my fault. It wouldn't hurt to add a ? or some symbol on each ocean, right?

Great quiz!

I would recommend changing the peninsula color. It blended in a bit with some of the answered questions, and I didn't notice it much when I started the quiz. Also about Squaw Valley: That is where the Olympics took place. The location has since changed its name though. I can see why you wouldn't change the answer because it's more of a history thing. I would recommend at least accepting the new name of the location though: Palisades Tahoe.

I typed "Beaufort" half a dozen times and it wouldn't take. After I gave up, I checked the answer: "Beaufort Sea". Did I spell it wrong? Started the quiz again and typed "Beaufort S", and then it took. Why is the S needed?
