South America's Triple Borders by Latitude/Longitude

Write the 3 countries that meet at the latitude/longitude coordinates shown.

You must type the countries of each triple border point IN ALPHABETICAL ORDER.

Coordinates taken from Google Maps, and shortened to 2 decimal places.

As a rough guide, the equator cuts through South America from 0.00, -80.11 in Ecuador in the west to 0.00, -49.36 in Brazil in the east.

This is a quiz in progress and I would appreciate help from anyone who can/would like to convert it into a map quiz.

Very nice quiz! How would you go about converting it into a map quiz? I think it would take away a lot of the challenge, even if you made the countries appear only as you guess them

I've seen your post on the subreddit now, I'm still not sure I understood your idea completely but I can help out if you want! Basically you would need a borderless map of South America with the triple points, right?

Yes, can you have a go at helping out with that? I'll make you a collaborator...

My dream was to have an interactive version, where all the triple points appear on the map, and you click on them to guess the countries that meet there. I've no idea if that's possible, and yeah I like the lo-fi version as well so if not, hey!

It sound very cool, but I don't think the interactive version you envision is doable on Jetpunk... maybe with a click map quiz and a lot of CSS, but in that case I suggest asking somebody more experienced with CSS than I am.

In any case I made the simple SVG (borderless South America with the triple points), but I suggest you make a copy of your quiz and add me as a collaborator on the copy, so that you can then post the new quiz with a map without scrapping this one

Good idea. I've made a copy to experiment with.

Alright, I've added the SVG and fixed a couple of small errors (you had apostrophes instead of negative signs in one of the coordinates). It's still quite barebones, since right now the map is only there to hint towards the triple point locations.

If there's anything else you'd like help with, like changing the colours of the map (I kept the Jetpunk standards), let me know. Cheers!

I love it, thank you so much! I could never have done that on my own.

What might make it more accessible is to reorder the hints North to South, so it's clearer which dot is being referred to. I'll think about it and maybe do that later.

Thanks again Crem 👍

Cool. Did Crem finish it off? if not, I'd be happy to help out also! :)

Crem did a brilliant job, making some corrections and adding a map with points. See what you think Pandora, and still happy for any suggestions:

Cool. I'm going to just do a bit of fixing on the grid and make it compatible with mobile

Crem did a great job so I didn't fix too much, but I fixed the grid to have 2 blocks instead of 1 (so that it would look a bit neater), I changed the dot colour to the orange-ish colour that JetPunk uses, and coloured in the Falkland Islands in grey. If you don't like these changes, don't worry! I still have the old map saved and I could revert it back to the original :)

And the link you said has "Random" in the title. What do you mean by this? Because if it's a random map quiz I'll have to add some CSS to it :)

I'm getting a bit confused with these versions... I'm still learning about collaborating here. Pandora did you look at this one:

https://www.jetpunk.com/user-quizzes/1303772/s-americas-triple-borders-by-latlong-with-a-map

There was a missing point at Arg/Bra/Uru that I added, but that unfortunately mucked up the neat double-columns a bit.
