Nice quiz! Shouldn't the Netherlands be here as well, since it contains some Belgian exclaves?

Great quiz. Really makes you think.

What about Indonesia? (Doing so would split off East Timor and Papua New Guinea -- or is the theory that they're already separate "pieces" of the Asian continent?) Similar question regarding Malaysia (which would isolate Brunei).

I'm glad you enjoyed this. Keep in mind this is only countries that would split a continental landmass (Afro-Eurasia, Americas, and arguably Australia), not that would split a landmass.

India should be a stand-alone answer because of Dahagram-Angarpota, a Bangladeshi exclave. Also, should Austria-Switzerland really count since Liechtenstein would end up in the middle of a lake? If you are including things like that, then Oman should also be included as a stand-alone answer because of Nahwa, a counter-enclave of the UAE surrounded by an Omani enclave.

Actually, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Serbia, and Belarus should be added as single answers for the same reason. I'm also not sure whether you are counting lakes and rivers as "land" area or not, because if so, Mozambique and Uruguay should also be included and Argentina should become a stand-alone answer.

Also (sorry for all the comments) Iraq-Jordan, Iraq-Syria, Iraq-Turkey, and Jordan-Syria should also work. Switzerland should also be a stand-alone answer for the same reason as all the ones listed in the previous comment and Austria should be removed from the quiz.

Thank you for all of the good points! I hadn't known of most of these.

This gets quite difficult to draw the line. Dahagram-Angarpota feels like it would be an island, not a separate landmass, but I guess it is fair game.

I still believe Liechtenstein would be a new separate 'part', so I'll keep Austria-Switzerland and add Oman.

I'll add all of the Middle Eastern pairs, thanks.

Can you provide why Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Serbia, Belarus, Uruguay, Mozambique, and Switzerland should be stand-alone answers? I'm not sure I understand your reasoning there. I'll add the others once I figure out what these would be added for.

Also, islands wouldn't be part of the continental landmass, so no to the lake/river question.

I found the list that I think you used, so I'll update accordingly. Because of the amount of small cases there are, I'm going to split the quiz into with and without enclaves.

I was thinking that South Africa - Mozambique should be added as a pair, since it would make Eswatini an island. I guess it's excluded because South Africa itself works as a stand alone (because of Lesotho)? Consider whether stand alone countries could also be used in combination if the result of the combination is different than just the stand alone country? Maybe that would be a different quiz because there may be others (for example, France-Spain). Anyway, great quiz.

Ah, that's a good point. I think that would be too confusing, but it might be a good idea for a different quiz like you said.
