List the team name of every Major League Baseball team since 1892. As you list the team name, the city will be filled in as well. The 30 colored blocks are the current MLB franchises with any predecessor teams to that franchise listed immediately below. The remaining blocks list defunct Major League teams: 3 from the National League, 9 from the Federal League, and 57 from the seven officially-recognized Negro Leagues.
List the team name only, not the city.
Given the challenge of naming the 69 defunct teams, the city name is provided as a hint.
AL=American League, NL=National League, FL=Federal League
The 7 Negro Leagues officially recognized as Major Leagues by MLB: NNL I = Negro National League; ECL = Eastern Colored League; ANL = American Negro League; EWL = East-West League; NSL = Negro Southern League; NNL II = Negro National League; NAL = Negro American League
Yes, the Reds were known as the Redstockings from 1882-1889 when they were in the American Association. They became the Reds in 1890. I used the 1892 date as the cutoff for this quiz because that is when the National League absorbed the American Association. There were a bunch of short-lived teams in the NL between 1876 to 1892 that would make this quiz very unwieldy if I included them. Therefore I used the 1892 NL absorption of the AA as the starting point for this quiz.
