"Crouchback" was the name atttached to Edmund, brother of King Edward I. He was born in 1244.He married Blanche of Artois, the widow of the king of Navarre.

Richard III's riegn was over 200 years later. He was described by Shakespeare as hunchbacked. He evidently had one shoulder slightly lower than the other.Shakespeare's portrayal of him as a terrible person is much disputed.
