Great quiz! How about adding the yellow box, to stop people fluking answers to other questions? I'm gonna be in Belgrade next month, by the way, so we must met up for coffee (or whatever fine drink Serbs are into).
I knew a grand total of two - Cyprus and Italy, and I got all but three more just by guessing random countries. So yes, to be fair, yellow box should be used.
I have a question - how the heck am i supposed to decode a desert? I was guessing africa the whole time, going libya, egypt, sudan, mali, and couldn't find it. I reccomend you make it a bit more obvious
If you are referring to Iraq, I got it because of the 2 rivers. If you think about Mesopotamia (which translates to the land between rivers) being where modern day Iraq is, then it's easy.
I thought in first sight that it is Baghdad. I tried Baghdad! I then tried Cairo, Khartoum, etc... after I got what I was doing wrong. I did same in another quiz with Cape Town.
Well you can enlarge the pictures and the rivers (or canals...) are good clues. Which country has an isthmus crossed by a river (or canal...)? Panama. Which dry country has two parallel rivers ? Iraq (aka Mesopotamia).
Iraq: desert country with no visible coastline and two winding parallel rivers, and an irrigated area between them.
Panama: a narrow isthmus moving from southwest to northeast that looks very green and largely flat. Plus if you look closely you can see the canal which is of course a dead giveaway.
