Horrible quiz! Please, no more! (Glad the rest of you like these, though.) I always do terribly on them. I scored four this time which is better than expected. I would enjoy them if I could at least learn something new, but it doesn't seem to matter how many times I take them, I still don't recognize the countries.
You cant call it a horrible quiz just because you suck at them. Its a great quiz and its meant to be difficult. But I guess you just need to learn their shapes better.
Some quizzes are for learning, but other quizzes are only for testing you on what you know. In fact, that's what the definition of "quiz" is. In this case, you are meant to already know satellite maps well enough. This is why, in the most appropriate way I can, I call skill issue.
Some of those are very tough. First half were very get-able. Three of the second half I have absolutely no idea what part of their respective countries they are.
The picture of Vietnam isn't oriented exactly North-South like most of the others. Also, the pic for South Africa is pretty much just the city of Cape Town, which doesn't fit with the greater theme of the quiz (national geography). Otherwise, awesome and challenging quiz!
A nice idea for a quiz would be making one with maps not presented in a north-south east-west fashion. After all this is arbitrary, and I wonder how hard it would be to guess the familiar shapes if turned around.
The sizes are somewhat inconsistent... the pics of the USA and Mexico are HUGE and therefore super easy while South Africa's pic is from a TINY area making it near impossible. Middle ground pics like Vietnam or Spain
It's pretty big - hundreds of thousand of square kilometres, but the Brazil and Morocco pics include millions. Regardless, 3nchilladas' point stands - there's a pretty wild variation in scale.
I breezed through almost all of these in no time, except for Vietnam and South Africa, which utterly stumped me. Never really appreciated how pointy the bottom of Vietnam is.
