AFAIK the problem is that it doesn't smell like guano anymore ):
I think they mined all their phosphate, bought into some kind of scam, made various bad investments, and wound up money laundering / getting placed on a global black list. Or something to that effect.
Not very fair, Nauru has been occupied for 3,000 years and the people are friendly and proud of their island. During WW2 many of the people were taken away as labourers by the occupying Japanese forces, the survivors were repatriated by the Australian Forces who liberated the island. Nauru is a member of the British Commonwealth and compete in the B.C. Games. The coast is rugged and the island is surrounded by a coral reef.
Nope, Naurus highest point is 60 m above sea level and overall the whole island is a single coral atoll that was uplifted out of the ocean by an underwater volcano. The only problem they have is that most of their houses are built at the beach but there are already houses at higher altitudes so it wouldn't be too much of a problem to move their people inland by building more houses next to the already existing ones. What could become a problem though is that their airport is at the beach as well...
Macedonia changed it's name recently, so Jetpunk supported that by changing all the country quizzes including Macedonia. Same thing happened with Swaziland to Eswatini.
