Was India an independent country within the Commonwealth by 1939? Shouldn't it be included with the UK, like Australia?

What he is saying is that India's deaths should be included with the UK's, instead of having its own answer. Since India's independence doesn't have an exact date, I filled that in to avoid confusion.

Hope I cleared it up for you!

It's complicated. Officialy, India was just independent in 1947, but the process began previously to World War II, and socially the country was already independent. Anyway, to avoid confusion, it is filled in now!

Estonia joined the USSR in 1940, after the war had started, then was conquered by the germans in 1941, and back to the soviets in 1944. But for the purposes of this quiz, we consider the country's borders when the war began, and that why Estonia's included!

Hope I cleared it up for you! :)
