They're either the name of the country/state or the demonym from that place.

If the demonym is the name of the body of water (i.e. the nonexistent French Sea) the demonym would be required.

For the names that are international regions, the box is highlighted in red. For the names that are country subdivisions, the box is highlighted in blue.
