Ok, I'll change that. I guess I meant that England is East of Wales. I must have confused myself!

It can be interpreted two ways:

'What country borders England to the West?' could mean you are asking what country is on the western side of England (Wales), or which country has a border with England on the west of that country (none).

So as it originally read, it still made sense, but not as much.
