** Aren't New Mexico and Arizona at their southernmost at their common border? ** i.e. NM is both out of order and wrong Lat?

They technically always have been. They each have their own constitution and are considered a federation, when making up the US. Germany for the longest time was somewhere around 40 principalities operating as separate states (or countries) before uniting. Blah blah TL;DR...

California's not on here because its southernmost point is not as far south as the southernmost points of the states that are on here.
