Land area is the area of a country within a countries boundaries, excluding water. What you have is total area which is including the water. Most of the countries would have different numbers. Niger's land area of 1,266,700 would beat Chad's land area of 1,259,200. So for future reference don't use the phrase land area when referring to a countries total area.
