Cyprus is smaller than Qatar (9,251 km2).

And Lebanon (10,452 km²) too, but with Cyprus it won't fit the list. The quiz could also do with a bit less time, now there's plenty of time to type in random countries.

And Cyprus is also in Europe... It's closer to Asian countries physically, but closer to European countries culturally.

It is in Europe, uses euro, is in the E.U, and just because it is close to Asian countries doesnt mean its in Asia. Its also in the Medditeranian ocean( i dont know how to spell it).

Is Trinidad and Tobago included in North America ?

It should be included in South America, and should be #1 on the list at 5,131 square km.

I'm pretty sure not a lot of people recognize Trinidad and Tobago as South American

If you google "Trinidad and Tobago continent" you get South America, and if you google "South America countries" Trinidad and Tobago is listed. Physically, it is located on the South America continental shelf as opposed to being part of the (Lesser) Antilles chain, which distinguishes it from the rest of the Caribbean islands which are considered to be part of North America. I will, however, note that JetPunk appears to classify it as North America, as can be observed in The Countries of the World Quiz.

I don't think it really matters, but Trinidad and Tobago is also geographically part of South America, it was once part of the mainland.

Trinidad & Tobago should be considered in North America, and it does in all the quizzes here.

Trinidad is South America, where Tobago is in North America. Similarly Aruba, Curacao and Bonaire are all South American islands. The convention is to lump all islands into North America, but that doesn't make it right. Considering how on JetPunk we tend to use Wikipedia as a source and consistently state that where the largest and/or most important part of the country is located is determining the continent (Turkey - Asia, Egypt - Africa, but Russia / Europe). As Trinidad is the most important part it's an easy case to make to classify the country as South American.

trinidad has always been part of north america, besides its rich and its larger than the other caribbean islands

It's probably one of those things that depends on who you ask and how you ask it. Status quo on this site and others like it is that it's part of North America. Other ways to frame it are geologically, politically, culturally, economically, etc. and each way probably has a nuanced answer. I could see CP Grey making a video on it like he did with "Holland vs the Netherlands" (https://youtu.be/eE_IUPInEuc) that includes Sint Maarten but not Saint Martin which occupy the same island.

Has anyone done a version of this quiz that includes only countries on the continental mainland? (I realize that excludes all Oceania countries except Australia.) Seems that it would be interesting to see the five smallest continental African countries for instance, rather than just remember the island countries included in Africa that aren't Madagascar. South America would (of course) change the least. But all the others would be totally different, except for Europe, which would only have one change.

I wish that political considerations could be omitted from a quiz on Geography! - - Politics can shift on a daily basis; geography, save earthquakes and meteors, rarely does.
