Tough, indeed! I found the unknown country but some of the countries were all over the place. Cote d'Ivoire is the most difficult to find because most people know this country as Ivory Coast.

Cote d'Ivoire isn't the most difficult as of 8:18 PM today, it's the unknown! And as obvious, the 3 unique first-letter ones are the winners for most-guessed. :)

What's the rationale for listing Ivory Coast under its French translation?

Whatever it is it doesn't cut muster, this quiz/site is in English (East Timor - Timor l'este, Equatorial Guinea - Guinea Ecuatorial, etc).

If it's not the least guessed that is simply because people are typing in Ivory Coast for the I country.

The rationale is that in 1986, the former president Laurent Gbagbo stated that his country shall be classified as Côte d'Ivoire in every language.

The standard for this site is to use Ivory Coast, and this quiz should be consistent with the rest. However, I do agree that some of the country names used on the site should be changed. Cape Verde, Ivory Coast, and East Timor are known as Cabo Verde, Cote d'Ivoire, and Timor-Leste respectively both in their languages and on the world maps released by the CIA.

I wonder what people think about using "Türkiye" instead of "Turkey", as it seems to be a similar situation (the head of state has specifically requested/declares that the country's name should be referred to a certain way), but I haven't seen anyone using "Türkiye" on the site. I don't have much of an opinion either way, but it does slightly irk me (especially on quizzes such as these) when the spellings are inconsistent.

I found it one of the easiest to guess the unknown country for that reason. Venezuela and UK suggests mid-Atlantic, which rounds the field down hugely.

Vatican City is closer to Cape Verde than Venezuela. Fix it, otherwise the quiz and the series are amazing!
