I always accept Scotland, Sealand and that place in-between my two neighbours as countries. Doesn't work well in quizzes somehow.

No, on both accounts. Though I see "fyrom" is offensively accepted now. Should remove that type-in and add North Macedonia since that was agreed on by all parties. FYROM never was.

Fun fact: The western half of Yugoslavia was part of Austria-Hungary until 1918.

As others have pointed out, Macedonia is now called North Macedonia. Also, everyone in this comment section saying Kosovo is a part of Serbia is displaying complete ignorance to the Kosovo situation
