Name the geographical features of Israel on the map below, as well as the five largest cities in the country (excluding cities in the disputed Palestinian Territories).
Really glad to hear that, it seems like some people were enjoying the series, but I took a break from it to focus on other quiz ideas. This is a series that I could see continuing for quite a while yet. :D
I'm really glad to hear that! It makes me happy this series has found an audience, it's hard to tell people what these quizzes are about in the title alone.
Nowadays, הַגָּלִיל/The Galilee refeers to the area in Israel north of the Carmel and Samarian Mountains, the lake itself is the Sea of Galilee, and is almost always refeered to as The Kinneret in Hebrew הַכִּנֶּרֶת
Fixed thank you! I don't know how I missed the type-in. The name displayed will remain the Sea of Galilee since that is the most common English name. I may update the map in the future to use the name 'Kinneret' in Hebrew :)
Great quiz! I checked my friend stats and only one of my friends had taken this quiz... you! And the best part is, we both had the same score: 9/12! If we keep trying, I'm sure we can both get 100%. :)
Could get some of them remembering of the Bible stories. The mountain point got me. I tried Hermon, with the answer being Meron. This kinda stuck me, because when I check, I see the divergence between both mountains (Meron de jure, Hermon de facto). And could forget Neguev by trying Sinai, as well with the last two cities, when I was trying Samaria, Bethlehem, or Jericho by some weird reason lol.
Bible knowledge can get you far, although the suburbs of Tel Aviv will always be tricky. Jericho is a fascinating city for its history, although it can be found far in the disputed West Bank. Lots of history in this part of the world!
Waits for someone say “we can collab on Brazil quiz” lol
Yeah, I just get a little bit confused at the mountain point. As I said, Hermon is “de facto” the highest, while Meron is “de jure” the highest point. Is like the history of Taliban flag for Afghanistan. What do you think about it? Maybe accept Hermon for Meron?
I will consider it, however it's a little more tricky than that. Mount Hermon is much taller than Meron, however it is tucked away in the disputed Golan Heights territory on the border with Lebanon and Syrian-controlled territory. It might be fair to accept just Meron due to the geographical clue, however Hermon seems much more famous and is significantly taller.
I’m loving this series!
Thanks for playing :)
