I'm planning on doing some other quizzes in this style (with more time added) for other regions of the world.
I didn't know how generous I should be with the type-ins. I've allowed "Hispanic" and "Latino" as options for Mexican although they are certainly not the same thing. Also, "Black" is an accepted type-in for African American, as it is sometimes used as a term for the culture/ethnicity which formed in America. In general, America places greater emphasis on race rather than ethnicity, so these things become confused. This also meant that it was harder to get percentages (I will try and include percentages in future).
Keep in mind that these are pluralities and not majorities.

Colours are based on ethnic groups,
Red = Germanic
Blue = Latin
Brown = Indigenous
Purple = African
Green = Celtic
Orange = East Asian
