Connecticut Cities and Towns Named "-Ford" or "-Bury"

"-Ford" means a river crossing. The name "Bury", (also earlier known as "Buri" and "Byri") comes from a Proto-Indo-European Iranian word, probably meaning "stronghold" or "fort". Swedish 'Borg' is of same origin. The German -burg has the same meaning.
