Name Any Valid U.S. City

For each of the clues given, name any incorporated place in the United States that fits the criterion.
There are almost 20,000 incorporated places in the United States, but over 50,000 unincorporated communities. Please don't complain that yours isn't on here.
Using populations from the 2010 census, because there are not reliable estimates for all cities.
Not including territories, so no San Juan, Saipan, Hagåtña, etc.

A few notes: This quiz required more than 200 hours of work over the course of 35 days. There will be some mistakes, but I've done my best to make this as accurate as possible. If you find a city that is missing, please let me know.

Almost half of this quiz was made on mobile using Stewart's quiz editor.

Hawaii's only incorporated city is Honolulu; all the rest are Census Designated Places. This is why there are seemingly no Hawaiian cities.

San Jose does not have one million inhabitants in this quiz because it uses populations from the 2010 census. In 2010, San Jose had only 955,255 people.

Cities which added "City," "-ville," or something similar to the end of their county's name were still counted as the same name.

I counted Virginia's (and all other) consolidated city-counties like normal counties. Parishes and boroughs were used as counties in Louisiana and Alaska, respectively.

For Alaska, where there were no boroughs, Census Areas were used.

To determine what cities were west of the Mississippi, I followed the path of the river to the source, then drew a line directly north from the source to the Canadian border. All cities on the west side of this line were counted. Cities on both sides of the Mississippi were considered to be on the west side.

# refers to the total number of possible cities. The number of unique answers is usually much lower, as many states have cities with the same name as those in other states.

Cities within 0.5 miles (~0.75 km) of the Colorado were considered to be on it.

New York City is not included for cities that include "city" in their name because the official name is New York, and City is only used to differentiate from the state.

Cities situated on a river border still count as bordering, but not those that have lake or ocean border.

Cities on the Gulf Coast include bays but not rivers or lakes.

Great quiz. However, Ohio City should not be a valid answer for Question 11. Ohio City was a city from 1836 until 1850 when it was annexed by the City of Cleveland and ceased to be an independent city. It is now a neighborhood on the West Side of Cleveland that used to be nice, took a downturn, and is now being returned to what it used to be.

Amazing job on this quiz this was one of my favorites! However, I believe that the "cities in counties with a shared name" answer should not include St. Louis, Missouri. St. Louis city does reside within the geographic boundaries, however the city has been separate from the county for a long time. It's a massive point of contention in the area politics all the time.

Like I said, amazing quiz!

Thanks! I decided to count St. Louis with the other independent cities as its own "county," to avoid complaints and gripes, as often happen on quizzes like this. Since it is an MVA quiz, I think it is better to include some of the marginal cases to stop comaints of answers not being accepted. :)

When one of the question accepted oklahoma without city in the answer, I was surprised when at another answer it was not accepted. This considerably slowed me down, because initially I didnt get what was wrong. I understand whý the choice was made. But not sure it is the best choice, different type-ins for the same answer on a single quiz...

I know either way you will get people complain about it. But I think consistency is important. I think the better choice is requiring "city" in the earlier question. because typing the same thing twice and one time it is accepted and the other time it isnt while the answer is the same is, well, weird.
