Had no idea that Alaska was further west than Hawaii! Although I've just looked it up and there is an argument to say that it's one of the most EASTerly places in the US as it is the other side of the 180 line. I'm not American, so I don't know if it's generally accepted over there? Interesting nonetheless!

I believe that the island of Attu is by far the most westerly point of the US. You should specify continental if you mean the most westerly point on the mainland, although it's somewhat debatable if Alaska can be considered on the American mainland at all.

Cape Wrangell is the westernmost point on Attu Island. I guess I can add Attu as an acceptable answer.
