Hi, no problem. There are a few other options for that one, since it appears a lot of people confuse RP with just 'English' or 'British'. I don't think that's restricted to Americans etc. most likely a lot of British people do too.

How about Lancastrian or Lancashire for Mancunian. I'm from 20 miles outside Manchester, and although my accent is like theirs, I would never consider myself speaking in Mancunian. You take generic "Yorkshire" for Bradford, Leeds, Sheffield, York, Hull, Scarborough, etc. - fair's fair!

Hi. I can do that if you'd like. I didn't realise the Lancashire accent was so similar, I was just going with the map that goes with the YouGov poll. Do you think it would be fair to just have Scottish as an option for Glaswegian or is that too broad?

Scored 11/12. Not too bad for a Yank, I hope. Never heard of Geordie but after looking it up I realize I was close with Tynedale.

Aren't there lots of Yorkshire accents? (The reason I think the answer is Yes was cos my Mum's from Filey!)

There are several per town, it seems sometimes, but it is easier just to group them all under Yorkshire. ;)

Great quiz! I remember seeing a survey like this, but they gave it to both English people and Americans. The Americans' answers were almost completely different, which was interesting. Anyway, as a Brit I can say that I pretty much agree with this list, though I would put Welsh top. :)
