Try to guess as many different consoles as possible in the time given.
Difficulty level: EXTREME (Although I had to make it easier to appease the whiners)
Edited as of June 19th, 2021 to add type-ins and updated to include most recent consoles.
Includes handheld and home consoles.
Includes those released in only one country.
Excludes those that were cancelled/never released.
Includes home consoles that are technically home computers, i.e. ZX Spectrum.
Dude, if you're gonna make a quiz THIS far-reaching, you're gonna need to either accept type-ins or be consistent with what is and isn't accepted. Fact is, you only accept "Nintendo Wii U" even though that name is factually incorrect
This quiz is completely inconsistent. It accepts PS1, PS2 etc. but not Xbox 1. It wont accept Microsoft Xbox 1, but will accept Microsoft Xbox One even though they are the exact same thing.
Agree about the inconsistency. I can type "N64" but have to type "Nintendo Gamecube". I can type "Gameboy Advance", but I have to type "Nintendo Gameboy". I can type "Wii" but I have to type "Nintendo Wii U". I can type "SNES", but I have to type "Atari Lynx" and "Atari Jaguar". No one ever called the Jaguar an "Atari Jaguar". Frankly, I can't be bothered to complete this quiz.
Would've been a good quiz if you had added some more type-ins. Not very fun trying 50 different iterations of xbox one to see which one is actually accepted.
How in the world was the quiz green-lighted, and even more pressing of a question, how in the world did this get spotlighted? Horribly inconsistent, in desperate need of a lot of type-ins considering how lengthy it is, and 2 years outdated as of the time it is being spotlighted.
I think having a tone where you're combative with the people writing your quiz will probably make them rate it poorly. I think the biggest issue that most people have is the type-ins. When I had to type "Playstation" before Vita and Atari before Jaguar I lost some motivation to really try on the quiz. Also, I typed in Atari 800 because that was a home computer that was more or less designed primarily for video games... but it didn't work. I think if you made another version where you tightened up the rules about what you included and excluded (which would make it easier to use type-ins), then more people would enjoy it. Also, you have plug-and-play consoles like the Atari Flashback... but you omit the vast majority of plug-and-play consoles. Again, it'd be more fun if the rules about what consoles were included were tighter so video game experts knew what target they were shooting at.
