The answer to the yellow clue was really hard. I eventually figured out the others, but not that one.

Very hard one. Requires a very good knowledge of the periodic table and then some trivia on top of it.

Chemistry is my kryptonite. I guessed my face off and somehow managed to get 16/20, despite not knowing what an atomic number is or actinides, or what element is in what row. Who needs brains when you're born lucky ;)

Which makes me think a quiz about fictional elements would be great! Adamantium and kryptonite come immediately to mind.

unobtanium, convenientium, vibranium :D

although technically, unobtanium is real... its not an element but a word scientists/engineers use to describe a material that would perfectly solve a particular problem, which doesn't exist

I scored 13, which is better than I expected considering I had no idea what a transition metal is, nor had I ever heard of

Actinides or Lanthanides. I made some lucky guesses.

great quiz! Just wondering, how do you put the check mark in the answers column but still have the correct answers within it...if that makes sense.

The easiest way is to separate answers by | (the pipe) in Step 2, this will produce auto typeins in Step 3, separating one answer per line. You can then set this to custom (to make sure it doesn't change) and then go back to Step 2 and change the visible text to be a check character.

I thought I was losing it because I was positive that Lawrencium should’ve worked for the transition metals. I retook the quiz and again I was positive that Lawrencium should work! But on the rewrite, it didn’t even work for the first box… I looked up a periodic table and just like I remember from chemistry back in the day, Lawrencium was hanging out there with the transition metals! So I googled it and… nope! Many tables just plop it there so the table looks better. Apparently it’s a lanthanide.

Am I missing something. Tantalum ends in "LUM"?

The question asks for for -ium, not -lum. Might be difficult to see, but that's why I did lower case "i".
