Is there something particularly iconic about the Johannesburg skyline that makes it recognizable? In all the other ones there were specific landmarks/buildings that helped with identification, but I don't know anything about the Johannesburg skyline.

Maybe it's in for the challenge and inclusion (of Africa). I just left it down to two I wasn't quite sure of and 50% chance was enough for obtaining the perfect score.

Other cities stop at one tall tower with a bulbous knob somewhere near the top. Cape Town decided they needed three. Similar approach as South Africa took to its national capitals.

If you've seen District 9 its slightly easier.

That caveat will not stop complains. Why not showing the actual skylines? I was not even sure of New York ^^.

Because most skylines are very disjointed and too far apart. You'd end up with a handful of buildings per country making this quiz much less entertaining.

I don't understand what you mean. The question is: how did you make (or get) the pictures for this quiz? Are they all "not to scale" or just some of them?

Well some of them I found cartoonistic emphasisations online and traced around them in Inkscape to make them silhouettes. But because they were cartoonistic, they're not "accurate" or "to scale". The others I found a picture of a skyline and traced that instead. I would say at least half have emphasised features, I can't remember which though.

Ok, so part of them are the actual skylines. I'm not sure for Seattle, but I guess the original complain was exagerated (the Space Needle is quite easy to recognize anyway). Toronto seems rather correct, and Manhattan is not far off either (in fact, what disturbed me is that the Empire State looks like having a dome at that size, but then I looked closely and you can see the real shape of the building). So don't get me wrong, it's fun, though ten is too few... maybe you can extend the quiz to twenty (instead of making a second one, I mean).

I chose 10 due to SVG limitations and that I felt any more made the skylines too small to see clearly enough.

Map Quiz? I don't see a map? A picture quiz, I'd say.

"Map Quiz" is a quiz format, originally intended for maps. It is the one where you click the answers highlighted in blue, rather than typing them. Being level 82, I would've thought you'd know that already?

Can't you remove "Map quiz" from the title?

And it was a serious question. I'm not sure wether the tag is added automatically when you use that format or not (and if it can be removed or not).

The tag in the title is not, but the actual "tag" is added automatically due to the format used. But QM normally includes "Map Quiz" in all features quizzes of this format (for example see my Monopoly "Map Quiz" features). I think I'll leave the choice up to QM due to this.

Yes, I saw the title and knew exactly what the format would be. I think it's fine as is.
