For Johannesburg.. I was once skimming through tripadvisor Africa.
I remembered stories about a crappy tourist trap- I guess tour busses drop you off at the tallest building in the country, continent, or some variant etc. Turns out it's rundown/vacant, you might not be able to get to the top anyway, and you have a high likelihood of being mugged while you're there.
So I assumed the one with the white elephant was SA. I guess it's called the Carlton Centre. Figured it was likely SA, since how many other countries would have tourism + tallest building in Africa. And how many countries in the developed world would choose to stick that sore thumb onto their skyline. You could also go: Toronto=spire (CN Tower), then, which would you expect to have worse urban planning, Toronto, or SA?
