I question the reliability of this data. It says that there were 72840 visitors to Nebraska during the first half of 2016 but only 4064 during the first half of 2017. What would have caused that factor of 18 discrepancy?
I think Nebraska may be an anomaly, as total visitors was down 60% when comparing the first half of 2017 with the same period in 2016. However from spot checking other states, the data seems to be okay.
The data itself is from the NTTO, which is a governmental department which deals with Tourism figures. I spent ages looking for this info and eventually found it after contacting them for help! So it should be reliable data. I am only using 2016 data as well as that's finalised whereas the 2017 data is provisional I believe.
