I got fooled by Mariana trench and Manila, shame on me! Same area though, I'll just count it as one mistake ;).

My mental map is crooked, the bits above australia are lower in my mind haha. Or actually, maybe including australia. That whole entire corner of the map.

I'm concerned about the 2% of people who think Antarctica is in the Northern Hemisphere.

If you heard about the Arctic, but not so sure about Antarctica? Plenty of people have other strengths :)

I actually think it is becáuse people have heard (of) both terms, the words are nearly the same, so easy to mix up (especially if you have different words for them in your own language without any "artic" in it, it would be a case of which is which. (you have the one, and the other one)

Now if it was northpole southpole... those exact words I mean. that would be slightly worrying.

Btw some people can't tell flammable and inflammable apart ;)

Ha! One of my favorite insults in Shakespeare is, "Thou art as opposite to every good as the antipodes are unto us, or the south to the septentrion!" I think we need to bring back words such as antipodes or septentrion.

Can confirm that antipodes is still commonly used :) Especially in 3D geometry!

But not India, sorry. The southernmost point, Indira Point in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, is at 6.8°N.

Enjoyed this quiz very much, some great tricky questions. My strategy was to just think of the reference points, if you will, for each continent. Ecuador for the Americas, DRC for Africa, and Indonesia for Asia.
