You really should add Netherlands (bordering France : St martin-Saan Martenn).

If you are determineted, you can add Australia (bordering France in Antarctica XD)

Saan Martenn?? You mean Sint Maarten. Or are you trying to spell Saint Martin phonetically?

French Guiana is a French overseas department, while St Martin is part of the French overseas department of Guadeloupe, so technically they are integral parts of France.

St Martin is not part of Guadeloupe. It's a territory.

Where are Brazil and Suriname, from French Guiana, and Netherlands from Saint-Martin?

French Guiana should be included as it is a department of France, but Saint Martin is a collectivity of France, which basically means it is not part of the country of France.
+2
Level 61

It is part of the country. For example, people from St. Martin vote for the french President.

They are a part of the country, yes, and they vote for the president and in the EP. However, MustardCustard is right in that there is a distinct difference between overseas collectivities of France and overseas regions (those that make up Metropolitan France). French Guiana is the only overseas région of France with land borders. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Overseas_France#Varying_constitutional_statuses

collectivity or not, it's a part of France.

(in france we didn't make the difference like in UK)

I agree that, while there is a difference between overseas regions/departments and territories (and between territories themselves - it's a far more diverse statue than that of overseas region/departement), the latter are still just as much part of France. The weird thing by which some territories are not part of the country is mainly a British thing. We don't do that in France.

The new interface for mobile doesn't work well with the yellow box. The text I type in one box does not get deleted automatically when I move into another box.

I was only guessing the countries with the flag, and when it came to Monaco, I typed in poland a few times, wondering why it didn't work. Too much polandball.

Not here for people to flex their brain muscles at me or to tell me why they're cleverer than me, I'd like to learn - so could someone explain if St Martin/ Marten France/ Netherlands border is an official border such as those above? I'm aware FG is actual France, so borders with Brazil and Suriname count. Is SM different and similar to say Greenland and not a fully fledged overseas territory, on the French side or the Dutch side?

why does every quiz not include territories too? i want hard quizzes with territories
+1
Level 37
Nov 14, 2020
Its because France actually really doesn't have any territories. They are Provinces/States of France, that is the reason why other quizzes don't use territories. (They might not even have a border with a country)
