I think "unknown soldier" or just "unknown", considering that "soldier" is already given should be accepted for the unknown warrior. A great quiz nonetheless!

Great quiz. Well done. Completely agree with the comment above and suggest you allow simply unknown. Nominated.

Enjoyed this, thanks! I did raise an eyebrow at Mary Queen of Scots against Q… and Lionheart counting for L… probably just sour grapes though!

I tried "Queen Mary" for Q and it didn't work, kinda disappointed, otherwise it's a great quiz.

Great quiz, just to let you know if you hadn't noticed, Edward Jenner's name is written on his picture

And "Irish Free State" is written on the passport

Both Edward Jenner, and the Irish Free State are included as words in the images! Folk will assume the latter can't be an answer since it's already there! Incidentally the island of Ireland was 'partitioned' but the Free State was only one side of that, partitioned OFF. Imprecise.

Yes, I thought that... the north has never been part of the Irish Free State, and "Ireland" doesn't work (would be too easy I suppose).

I really enjoyed the quiz though - nominated.

Nice one. As a Scot, I like to point out to the English that Manchester is in the south of Britain. "The North" is a pretty common term, though, so it's okay.

As an person living in Kent I can tell you that anything above Watford Gap Service Station is “The North.” And the Midlands is Tottenham Court Rd. He’s just grumpy because it’s freezing “beyond the wall” and those white-walkers have been causing a bloody nuisance of late…

Since almost every other answer is a single word, I'd rewrite Q to "Mary _____ __ _____" or something similar to suggest its a multi-word answer.

I'd agree with others who point out that any part of the answer shouldn't be legible in its image. That would also include "Penny" in "Penny Black".

Nice mix of easy and not so easy. Surprised more people didn't get the ones where the answer when it was sitting right there. Wondered what non-English king began with L without thinking of Richard.
