Almost didn't get 100% because it didn't take just Oklahoma for Oklahoma City, although it did take Salt Lake without City.

Takes OKC though.

It takes SLC as well

That's because people actually call it Salt Lake (without the City). Don't think they do that for OKC.

But I thought it is generally acceptable for cities with 'city' in their name to just take their first name on this site, no matter what they are called. I am so used to it I didn't think to type Oklahoma City. This reminds me of the time when Mexico City did not get accepted on the World Capitals quiz unless you typed its full name, while Guatemala and Kuwait were accepted, before the QM changed that.

No one calls OKC "Oklahoma" because that's the name of the state. I wish people would do the same for NYC, but that'll always be New York to most people. Anyway, OKC is accepted on here, so it's ok (no pun intended).

HatemAli's point I think is that most other acceptable 'city' cities accept the same name without city. no one calls the capital of Mexico just "Mexico", but it is still accepted generally accepted. This also goes for Kuwait, Guatemala and Panama. Obviously people still call the Vatican the Vatican but other than that...

Won't take Minneapolis for St. Paul?

Why should it be accepted? Minneapolis never was a state capital.

Of course not. Minneapolis is not the capital.

Surprised not to see Montpelier. That place is pretty far out.

My strategy was just start west as those states are more spread out. All of the New England states and just the whole east coast are smaller states size wise, so I made a safe bet that they wouldn't be here.

It's only about 120 miles from Concord NH by the roads, 80-90 miles as the crow flies (Depending on how you measure--closest city limits, city centers, etc.).

Farthest from other capital cities definitely doesn't mean most remote. The name of this quiz should be changed.

I think the instructions explain what the quiz is asking for well enough.

I'm not from USA and I just didn't guess St. Paul/Madison. I thought the capitals near the lakes were close to each other
