I think there's french logic behind it. bis-cuits roughly translates to twice-cooked, and that's what we use to refer to the harder, smaller ones in the UK, whereas 'cookies' is used for ones which are larger and softer, and one would assume, cooked for less time

Actually, 'Limo' refers to any fizzy drink, while 'Limonade' means 'lemonade.
