The south-east Asian Majapahit empire in the 1300s reached from Thailand to Timor to the Philippines, perhaps they also belong? If not, the definition perhaps needs to be looked at. I'm not 100% sure I understand the colonial criteria for inclusion given Siam makes the list. If more broadly, meeting the definition of an empire is sufficient, then perhaps many other African and Latin American entries would be needed?
Agree. For example, how was South Africa ever an empire? How is New Zealand an empire? Why does this not include the Safavid, Mughal, and Inca Empires (just to name a few), not to mention Ming/Qing China?
I get the general idea behind this, but the term "colonial empire" is usually used in reference to the age of European Imperialism. I'd say you should either try to narrow your definition (like maybe focus only on European empires) or include every empire between 1300 and today.
some of these entries are kinda ridicules but I absolutely love it because it makes my tiny little nation out to be a colonial empire defiantly Nominating.
