@Kitsims, I'm an American (I love all countries tho, but not leaders such as Kim Jong-Un [sorry kim], and I'm NOT self centered, and I love all people, again, except for the obvious bad ones) and I use both Spelt and Spelled. The United States accepts both spelled and spelt. This is why I am learning so many different languages, and also, I might want to move to Australia or New Zealand when I get older (I want to visit every country except for DPRK) I love Indonesia and the Pacific Island Nations though, REALLY PRETTY COUNTRIES!
I didn’t realize that until after the fact. It is 3316 km from attu, so the Northern Mariana Islands (i think thats the US territory on this list) would be closer by about 200 miles
'Classic non-American' is a strange thing to say. How would you define the 'classic' nature of people from the other 195 or so other recognised nations?
Bangladesh is included. Nepal is further west than the parts of India that are closest to North Korea. Kazakhstan is closer because it is farther north.
Saw the distance to America written in red and immediately thought it represented them as North Korea’s biggest enemy and not an overseas territory... reputation preceding them there :P
I used an Antipodes map (From Brilliant Maps - an Atlas for Curious Minds by Ian Wright, you should buy it it has loads of great maps) and its just off the coast of Argentina. The closest land would be the Falkland Islands
Went to look at it using Google Maps, I get only 2805 km from the South Huanghue peninsula in NK to the Northeasternmost tip of uncontested India. (Shrinks to 2760 km if you measure to Dipuk Pass, but that's more realistically China)
I wish people would consider the well-known fact that English varies considerably between places before getting snooty about others' "errors".
