I considered accepting state names, but since there are only fifty it would be pretty easy just to guess random states. If enough people comment then I’ll change that

Great quiz idea, though allowing states does make it a little too easy (though not too easy with the time limit). If you type fast, you can just type all the states and then identify the country once it is highlighted. I think it would be more challenging to only accept the country, but to allow a bit more time.

Or, it only gets highlighted when you type the country, but you need to type both the country and the state? Don't know if that is even possible. Perhaps you have to type the country first to unlock the ability to type the state that country was replaced with....

Tough quiz - it threw me a little that the states have been turned 90 degrees, or even 180 degrees.

Ok, I had all 10 countries and was looking and looking on the map and didn't find any others, thinking "damn, this is hard". Turns out you have to name the states as well haha.

It's due to the old Jetpunk map, Nepal, North Macedonia and Armenia used to be squares to save on unnecessary detail (and the borders of the surrounding countries would help them take their shapes).

Had to do this quiz 4 times to find the 10th country, admittedly I only got it by guessing all the states. Was going region by region looking at every country, still couldn't get it until then. Great quiz!

Do these countries really want to replaced by US states? I know i am being a party pooper and it's just an interesting/fun quiz about comparing country and US state shapes, but there is a wee bit of a history of US imperialism around the globe to be aware of.

clearly showed my weakness as a non-US geography 'nerd.'

Had 9 of 10 countries correct (looked past Benin somehow), but recognized only 2 of the states, 3 if you count Vermont that i recognized soon after realizing Benin was reshaped).

Great idea for a quiz, some of those states are fantastic fits for the countries they have replaced. I got most of the countries, but I hadn't a clue on most of the states. I think that aspect is definitely easier for our American friends. Still a great quiz.

I’ll echo the multiple requests for more time though, the zooming in and out, plus thinking time, especially for us non Americans, does mean the time flies by far too quickly.
