Countries of the 1900's on a Modern Map

Name a country that existed in 1900, 1914, 1938, or 1945. The modern-day territory of that country will light up.
Use the common, English name. Has to be a sovereign nation, so Scotland and England don't count, etc...

Just because a country is lit up does not mean it’s former territory is.

Please allow PNG as a type-in for Papua New Guinea. I missed it and I was just siting here trying to think of who could have controlled that area in 1900!

During the years given, PNG was not independent, it was controlled by Germany PreWWI and Australia after WWI

I think it was mildly confusing that when you guess the UK, all of the empire lights up BUT you have to also guess several of those former colonies to get their separate territorial possessions (Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa). Similar issue with Spanish Empire countries. Idk how to fix it, but it was a weird detail that caused much frustration! haha

Should Russia not highlight when Germany is typed. My thought pattern is modern day Kaliningrad and East Prussia in 1936?
